Leg Vessels
Broken veins are small superficial red, purple or blue veins that can occur on the legs or in
fact anywhere on the body. These broken veins are from the normal blood supply and are
little breakage from the vessel and although they are quite common, they can cause some
distress and embarrassment for those who have them.
What Causes Leg Vessels?
Leg vessels may be hereditary or as a result of a variety of factors including occupations that
involve a lot of standing, obesity and hormonal influences such as pregnancy or menopause.
The over use of steroid creams and certain auto immune conditions may also cause leg veins.
Often the exact cause is unknown and may just be part of the natural ageing process.
Spider veins – also called telangiectasia, are small, fine veins that exist close to the
surface of the skin. These thin veins are connected to the larger venous system but are
not needed for normal circulation. Spider veins are often caused by pregnancy,
hormonal changes, weight gain, professions or activities that require prolonged sitting
or standing, certain medications, or genetics (family history).
Varicose veins – are gnarled, enlarged veins, which may be dark purple or blue in
color, and have a twisting or bulging cord-like appearance. While they are not usually
painful, varicose veins may sometimes cause achy or heavy feeling in the legs, a
burning or pain sensation after extended sitting or standing, swelling, or an itching
feeling ( we do not treat Varicose Veins with laser at Beauty Concept Salon)
Treatment Options at Beauty Concept Salon

appearance of the skin.
Thread Veins (face)
Thread veins or broken red veins ( face) are small unsightly superficial red, purple or blue veins that occur around the nose and across the cheekbones and chin, on legs or in fact anywhere on the body. These broken veins appear when the vein dilates and become larger so they are visible through the transparency of the skin. Thread veins are extremely common and completely harmless.
What CausesThread Veins?
Thread veins can be more visibly ageing than lines and wrinkles, leading many people to take action to remove them. These are very common, especially in people in their 40s, 50s and 60s. Almost all women will experience thread veins at some point in their life and they are usually associated with underlying vein problems.
The causes of thread veins are unknown although they may be caused by changes in
temperature, damage from sun exposure, smoking, hormonal changes, alcohol and prolonged standing as well as being a possible inherited condition.
